I downloaded this bypassing the payment and quickly realized just how dope it was. I had to come back and throw cheddar at you, thanks for this! Im starting a small zine meet in my tiny town in NC and can't wait to share this with the folks. GREAT WORK!
Love it. Been playing with it all night instead of doing invoices. 2 feature requests: more pages! I'd like to see a return to longer form zines up to 64 pages would be epic. Also, a text box feature where you can place linked text boxes on multiple pages and have the text you write or cutand paste expand over them. Like the old Microsoft Publisher did.
Made another little zine using this!! :D Can't stress enough how much I feel like the program itself inspires a unique workflow. Love using it to make backgrounds especially... Hopefully going to use it to help compile some bigger zines soon :)
absolutely love this program. so fricken cool. My own gripe is not being able to edit text after clicking away (commitment issues) and that the export def makes the file blurry text. but this is so much fun, spent hours playing around!
absolutely amazing. i could use photoshop for this, ive done it before, but your zine maker gives a better experience! like, it's made with love and has all the fun tools and vibes that you need for a successful zine!
this is so fun! ive been lookig for a way to make zines that had some of these exact tools, and the integration of a fun collective creativity based philosophy into every part really shows. this being said, i really wish there was more accessibility options, as the amount of constant movement and bright colors can make it hard for people like me with neurological disabilities to be able to have fun with this as much as id like. i think having some sort of option on some of your work that would minimize movement, make text have high contrast, and maybe put in a dyslexia friendly font- would do a lot to make this tool accessible to disabled crafters and artists.
Quick tip for folks on Linux: Downloading the Windows version and extracting the zip file doesn't always work. Something you can try that works well for me is installing Lutris, and then installing the Zine Maker through Lutris. It has an itch.io integration.
a truly awesome creative tool! made laying out my first mini-zine unintimidating and FUN, which is so not how printing projects usually go for me, looking forward to playing around with this more in the future!
If anyone is having issues saving or loading their zines, try turning off the itch.io desktop app's sandbox mode. Seems like I'm able to load zines fine after that :)
hi! i LOVE this app but i'm unable to import any images :( it comes up with just a blank folder. it also doesn't create a zine folder on my desktop at all, and i don't have avast either
Hi! a zine is an anti-magazine-magazine. It's a booklet, usually smaller and with fewer pages than a magazine. With no economical pursue. Zines are very punk on the aspect of beign easy, cheap to make and very artsy and personal. They can be about anything!

it runs on linux via wine :D
Do you know where files are saved? I can't find them, even in my Wine's desktop folder
no ;-;
where is the linux version ? :(
Anyone having issues with it thinking you're holding fn on a mac? I can't press "e" without it always bringing up the emoji menu :/
this is happening to me too
Same here... massive bummer! I decided to just have an 'e' on my clipboard/write my text somewhere else then copy/paste.

Published my first thing! Can it be added to the "made with the Electric Zine Maker" collection?

Know what would be pretty neat?🤔 a Linux version in the Appimage format. Dunno if that's planned, but it would be a much appreciated update indeed.🤞🏾
Seconded
I agree, but for now running it with Proton through Steam works pretty well!
Quick question; What is a zine?
