Tonight I couldn't sleep so I decided thats a good time to try making some art. I'd heard of this through twitter and a couple of streams where people tried it out and figured i'd give it a go.
Not actually knowing what a Zine was I did a little search to get an idea and then I was off on an unexpected 2hr journey.
The amount of tools within this "art toy" is really amazing, and so nice to use. It keeps it user friendly whilst giving some very cool options for editing your images.
I played around and created my first ever zine, with some weird images which I didnt even realize I could make!
I like making glitch and strange/horror themed art which I managed to make with ease here.
The randomization on the distortion tools is great for making yourself something unique and a bit creepy!
At the end I was given pretty awesome instructions of how to print and fold the thing so I now have my own little Zine which I will keep on my desk!
Will use again in the future for sure, and looking forward to any updates.
Amazing web :D
I don't even know Linux front-end development but tell me how I can help you make this thing support Linux without Wine and I'll do what it takes to help you!!1
I want to +1 this, but can't click the little arrow because it's swaying around too much. Please accept this comment in lieu of an upwards arrow click.
My kid and her BFF spent 90 minutes putting together a tiny zine about themselves as cats. They are so thrilled to have made their own magazine, and the interface and UI-experience reminded me of Print Workshop and the sheer amount of cut and paste love I used to pour into making tiny clipart magazines. It was just the rgiht level of calm creative fun for them to get busy - and to do something without being able to go too detailed.
Lol Gen Z doesnt know what zines are. Awesome tool and the greatest itch.io description page ever
Looks like a trippy version of Mario paint
No idea what a Zine even is, but im intrested
Wtf how did you customize it?
How did you customize the itchio page ?
Hey, I have the same question!
You can ask itch if you need custom css. If they comply with what you are trying to do they can implement the .css script on the page.
This looks so cool!!
I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is SO GOOD!
Made like 3 zines with this already! I think they came out great. I think the thing that was a paint point was choosing fonts. I have a lot of fonts on my computer and scrolling through that menu each time I wanted to write was bad, I ended up just using the font at the top of the list. Other than that it's <3
very stoked to try this out < 3 thanks a lot ~
Thank you for this! :)
I think this tool can help me with stress
I'm excited to make Zines! Thank you for sharing this beta version. I'm working on a Mac, and I think I have a couple of graphical issues with things overlapping. Screenshots for fullscreen and windowed below
thank you for these! i'm going to work off these to fix the resolution issues... probably won't be fixed soon (like the update will take longer), but definitely something i'm aware of.
This might be my go to for making mini zines now! Im really loving how i can do things so easily digitally and not fumble around with scribus or the mess of cut n paste.
I LOVE THIS!! the only problem is that when interacting with the "better halftones" option it crashes. still, this is a super cool concept and will defo be making my next zine wit this!!!!!! <3
This is really good work. How was this made?
Thank you! I have a post about what tech I use to make these things here: http://www.nathalielawhead.com/candybox/building-weird-games-with-alternative-te...
avast antivirus gives a false positive for this program. i just think i should give you a heads up
thanks for letting me know. i just contacted them.
Good to know that it's not just me experiencing this. I was just experiencing this today and I was quite curious to try it out.
I love your work so much. Fantastic!
Can I use these zines in games?
Wow this is a good Web page
