this rules, thank you for making it. I’d love to see double-sided print support some day – or at least let me export to a single pdf I can print on both sides instead of two separate single-page pdfs
PLAY IS NOT DEAD!!!! electric zine maker proves this!!! thank you for injecting joy and whimsy straight into my soul with EZM!!!! you absolutely rock!!!!
Hi! Can I use this software on chromebooks? Im teaching middle school kids about zines and Id really like for them to use your zine maker! (there school only provides chromebooks)
I finally got around to trying this one out. Great stuff! I'm not the type to fxxk around but it's a lot more fun than I expected! I even made a zine/comic so you can add it to the collection =)
Also I can confirm this works on linux using wine even though you have to wait a second for it to save the pages (and if you put the tool in the background for too long it sometimes freezes). Works better using the "virtual desktop" but you can't alttab if you click away from the editor (whoops)
Made my first zine today with this program! It's not much lol I made it in a few hours. But it's funny to me and I am my own target audience. https://no1ofnote.itch.io/lunch-a-short-zine
My friend and I have been using the program for fun, and it's really great and convenient, but a main problem we've stumbled across is that when you leave the program it doesn't ask whether you want to save your progress or not, which caused my friend to lose all their progress on the complex piece they were making. Another comment is that it should be easier to collaborate and send your work to another computer via the program itself. Great work!
This is such a cool tool! I was going to make something b/w and pre-planned but was so immediately taken by all the tools so I made something far more spur of the moment for my first zine instead ^_^ I don't doubt I'll be back to make more soon! https://lucabyte.itch.io/ive-never-made-a-zine-before
I love ezm so much! ive finished 3 zines w it that r all on itch.io and its been so fun to dive into zine making. To add to your wonderful collection of EZM zines https://tape-6.itch.io/
hi i just saw that you put one of my zines in your collection so I wanted to say thank you for that and also just thank you for making this super cool and fun tool!!!! it's incredibly inspiring and so so fun to use even (or maybe especially) as someone who isn't really a Visual Arts person. thank you for unlocking this funky little place in my brain. maybe i'll go upload my other projects to itch.
hey!! really love this, have been using it to construct my very first zine - i wish it was possible to adjust transparency of things, and to rearrange page order (if it is, i haven't yet been able to) but everything else is great! the various tools are super fun to play with. thank you!
Great idea, very convenient, good for beginners. My one concern is that it lowers the resolution of images. Is there any way to adjust that? Again, thanks for your hard work~
Hi--thank you for this amazing art tool! I had a question about the zine formats available because I feel like I'm missing something. Is it possible to construct the typical booklet zines in EZM? Like, the one where each page is half a page of an 8.5 x 11 inch piece of paper, and it's stapled together without scissors. If it's not in the program, I'd like to suggest it as an addition! It's definitely the zine type I see most in my area by far.
one of the most creative and inspirational digital art tools i've ever seen. As it is it's 10/10, if it had a trifold template it would be too perfect to exist. thank you for making THE fun, accessible, punk art tool for the new '20s
been trying to use this program but when i open it, the ui doesn’t appear :( all that shows up is a blue bg, i can still click ui buttons which changes the bg colour, but i can’t actually see anything
i’ve tried running as admin, redownloading the zip, using v11 and v12, but still no luck
i’m using windows 11, haven’t been able to find anything that helps with the issue yet, so any help would be greatly appreciated! :)
dunno if this is in your wheelhouse, but I can't seem to use the EZM on my screen tablet which is connected to my PC as an extended monitor. I'm able to pull up EZM on the tablet, but when I interact with the inner window (where you do the actual zine-making), it bounces over to the main monitor, leaving the background window with the fish behind. I'd appreciate any help if possible!
hm! okay, the bounce-to-other-monitor only happens when selecting a page of the zine to edit. I was able to drag the window back to the tablet with my mouse.
I love this so much! I made a little poetry zine with it (it's on my page :D) and am brimming with plans to make more soon! Thank you for this awesome tool.
I enjoyed working with this tool! Not only is it whimsical and fun, with the ability to save out, and reload, individual panels as needed, the "blend & displacerizer" tool becomes a layers workshop functioning like those found in other tools.
Thanks also for sharing my first zine in your collection! It's just some quotes I had fun with and tried to organize into a sort of beginning-middle-end format. I appreciated your kind comments on the birdsite! 🦇
Thank you so much for this cool tool! I love it, especially since it reminds me of Kid Pix. It’s really fun and oozes personality. I made three zines with it, which are part of a series called Olly the Butterfly! I love fooling around with this tool a lot.
thank you for the kind words! your Olly the Butterfly zines are beautiful! and adorable… made me smile. i added them to the “made in electric zine maker” collection too.
I really love this wacky thing! It is so incredibly fun and simple to use and it really does the most important thing with zines - stimulates the imagination . The opposite of some clinical, sleek publishing software - this one has all kinds of strange buttons and tools for serendipity. It reminds me a lot of the magic of those old painting and storybook software for kids in the 90s - really tremendous vision behind this little tool. I have made 3 zines with it so far and it is as fun, if not more, than doing it manually with the added flexibility that comes with having digital versions that are easily updated and manipulated. Can't wait to explore deeper and see what future updates will hold. Bizarre to the core - just like zines should be! Amazing work.
My first zine made with EZM is this one on Obscure Acronyms. Had a lot of fun with the ASCII painter!
omg thank you for the kind words and such a thoughtful comment about the Electric Zine Maker. it means a lot that this was your experience with it because that’s exactly what the program was intended to do.

with love,
gem <3
I made a lot of fanzines in high school and this tool would have come in handy with my color printer, super cute and I wish you all the best.
This seems like a really cool project. I have to give it a go. Hope you are doing well and are happy =)
This is a wonder. A magnificent masterpiece and a revolutionary tool in digital and analogue art creation. Sincere thanks to you.
this reminds me of kidpix a little bit, it was this art software that my school had in the computer lab
easter egg in top
Thank you for the amazing toolkit. I just published my first zine using it. Much appreciated!
This is a really awesome tool. Simply by looking at it, I'm filled with the impulse to create something. I like it very much. Thank you for making it.
Thank you for the maker! (I've finally desided to give it a go, by the way Random Shitty First ElectricZine by Родион (itch.io) )

I keep coming back to this and thinking about it. I want to call it an art tool but it's so much more than that. Thank you for creating it.

just read it, absolutely adorable!! will be printing it out once i get more printer ink
Halp. My comp (possibly Windows 10) won't let me drag saved zines back into the program to open them. Any suggestions?

I love this program <3 wild question but will you ever add Switch Deck support?
How do you change the cursor for the page? i want a fish for a mouse too :(
i made a zine! i also made another one: https://bloatedloaf.itch.io/azine
insanely awesome concept. cant wait to see where future updates take this and will definitly be donating when i get the funds to spare.
EZM is truly the gift that keeps on giving. I made another zine with it. I can't stop, nor do I want to.
love this very much. made a zine with it its on my page now :))
