Downloaded this after a Japanese flip-phone-era website builder for self-insert fanfics shut down for a newer version, taking lots of old fansites with it. Anyways, this page and the game looks great!
This was very cool, kind of a mix of a digital museum exhibit and the kind of blog post that one would indeed find on a self-hosted, self-coded website. Also this spinning comment section is an experience all on its own.
the tl;dr is that we're absolutely going to have to consciously go back to webrings and silly little IRC rooms if we want to reclaim the internet. On the upside, we may not have a choice, at this rate.
